Booting from DVD
Asus T102HA won't boot Linux Mint from DVD. It only allows Windows 10 in bios.
Re: Booting from DVD
that Win-10 system can also control some BIOS settings.
so, do check that Fast Start is OFF in the Windows power settings .. it used to be Secure Boot was turned OFF as well,

but only the 64bit LinuxMint can use Secure Boot, when that is still ON .. there does still seem to be some issues, even then.

Re: Booting from DVD
Thanks Pierre, I have done those things but it still comes up with only Windows 10.
There are no options in the bios.
Maybe that means I just can't run Linux Mint run on my Asus transformer mini at all!
Is there a way to upgrade the bios itself?

Re: Booting from DVD
that doesn't make any sense - - if you wanted to re-install the Windows System - - you couldn't.
can you try again, but with an usb stick, instead?

Re: Booting from DVD
My aim is to install Linux Mint (Mate) on to the computer and not have Windows 10 at all.
My bios doesn't allow the computer to boot from either DVD or USB. That's why I was asking if the bios itself can be upgraded.

Re: Booting from DVD
it can be done .. you need to use the WinFlash tool in order to update the Bios.
and then down load the Version 305 update .. 2019/06/18 .. 2.74 MBytes

Re: Booting from DVD
Thanks Pierre, I have done precisely what you suggested but the new bios still only allows windows 10 boot.
Uefi and CSM are not available either so I guess Asus or Microsoft didn't want Linux to run on this Transformer Mini T102HA.
I can't think of anything else I can do other than buy another computer. Thanks for your help.

Look at page 64 and following:
https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/T ... A_V3_C.pdf
Not all options are shown. Maybe you can still get the settings.
