Currently I've got Mint 19.3 installed on my SSD, and a dedicated partiton on the HDD for Timeshift snapshots.
I'm planning on wiping the SSD partiton clean to install 20. Can I set up the new Timeshift to carry on from 19.3's snapshots, or would I be best wiping the Timeshift partition too?
And if I could keep the 19.3 snapshots, could I revert to 19.3 if I needed to, by simply restoring a snapshot?

you are going to have to delete the Timeshift snapshots, because if you try to use any of them, and IF it runs successfully, it will restore your PC back to 19.3 ( or almost anyway )

I was figuring on putting a comment on the last snapshot before upgrading to Mint 20 so I'd know restoring anything before that would put me back to 19.3. Just wondering if there's too much changed in the system for snapshots to continue across the upgrade?

Far too much has changed from 19.3 to 20.04 to bother. The only reason you'd keep the last snapshot taken would be to roll back to 19.3 really. The first image of 20.04 will be pretty much the entire contents of the root partition.
