gpg: BAD signature from "Linux Mint ISO Signing Key <root@linuxmint.com>" [unknown]

Post by jimvv »

I have downloaded the ISO for Mint 20, intending to install it over my current 19.3.
But it fails my authentication check as specified in "How to Upgrade..." at blog.linuxmint.com:
executing "gpg --verify sha256sum.txt.gpg sha256sum.txt" yields

gpg: Signature made Thu 25 Jun 2020 05:57:17 AM EDT
gpg: using RSA key 27DEB15644C6B3CF3BD7D291300F846BA25BAE09
gpg: BAD signature from "Linux Mint ISO Signing Key <root@linuxmint.com>" [unknown]

I've never experienced this before. What should I do?
