installing mint after ubuntu/windows duel boot

i have ubuntu and windows on my computer now. ive had a lot of problems with ubuntu and i want to get rid of it, but if i do grub wont let me get into windows. i was wondering if i could just delete the ubuntu partitions and install mint on the free space or do i have to somehow get rid of grub?can someone help me i want linux mint

Let me be perfectly honest with you here. Mint is based on Ubuntu - very much so in fact. So if you had problems with Ubuntu I really do not see Mint aiding you too much, not that I'm disparaging Mint, but a fact is a fact. Don't expect miracles is all I'm saying, but we can probably help you out here on the forum if you have any glitches...

In the installer you just overwrite the Ubuntu partitions - you don't need to delete them first. And Mint will re-install grub so no worries...

ok thank you. the reason i had problems with ubuntu is because i tried to turn it into something like mint. im good with computers but im a complete newb to linux so i did alot of stuff to ubuntu and i messed a few things up that i had trouble fixing so i gave up after a while. now i just want mint and i will save the tinkering until i learn more.
