[Solved] invisible GRUB menu

Post by oz42 »

Hi,

since the upgrade from 19.3 to 20.0 the Grub menu is invisible.

In /etc/default/grub I read:

# The resolution used on graphical terminal
# note that you can use only modes which your graphic card supports via VBE
# you can see them in real GRUB with the command `vbeinfo'

But as there is no grub2 binary, I cannot do that. Instead, I started xrandr which found the laptop's LCD native resolution, so I defined

GRUB_GFXMODE=1280x800

But the menu is still invisible.

Any ideas?

Olaf

Did you run

Code: Select all

sudo update-grub
after the change?
