Of course the grub compile and configuration setups are useful

You are not using grub or grub2 , you are using windows boot manager NTLDR, so it makes little difference what the Linux OS boot loader is , windows controls the calls

Read your link..
  • I searched through the internet by I couldn't find any useful information on how to achieve this. Hence I decided to write this procedure on my own. It worked wonderfully for me and I hope that it would be useful to some others as well
The obvious reason why is that few users will be installing both grub and Grub2 to control their system; they will either stay with grub (legacy) because it is working fine or switch completely to Grub2 if they find any of its extra features of any value
--for a basic boot from a partition, it is doubtful that will be the case, excepting that Grub2 will increasingly become more common as the boot manager/loader setup fie.
