Mint 20.1 Cinnamon won’t install
I created a usb of cinnamon 20.1 using etcher and installed it to my laptop no problem. I tried to use the same usb to install to my desktop and it doesn’t install, it just sits on a black screen with a flashing white underscore. I’ve seen comments about Nidia problems and putting commands in the boot menu but it doesn’t get as far as the boot menu. I tried to redo the usb using rufus and same problem. Any suggestions?

Reason: Title amended: Mint is version 20.1, not Cinnamon, Cinnamon is just one of 3 available desktop environments

What happens when you try to boot from Live usb?
And do you have secure boot enabled. If so is there a way to turn it off in Bios.
Gives us a little more info on the machine, Make model video card etc.

Try to make your Live USB on your laptop with 20.1 on it.
