Just Installed the Linux Mint KDE Mini Edition.

Then downloaded Cassandra (Full Edition) MD5 CheckSum is right. But Cassandra can't install It hangs at the 4th Step. I am using an AMD 64bit with 256mb Ram and an ATI Graphics Card & 80GB SATA Drive.

My question is when the previous versions of Mint installed and the fact I am using Mint KDE Mini right now I don't know why I can't install Cassandra.

By the way will there be a new KDE Release.

The fourth step is the most demanding it seems.
You have way to little memory - if you have an AMD Athlon 64 bit you have a decent cpu - to match it 1 GB would be about right. To install you'd need at least 384 MB
You could perhaps be helped by this:
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

Return to “Installation & Boot”
