I recently upgraded my dual boot system to an ssd, I did a fresh install of Mint 20.1 on the new drive, rebooted to make sure everything worked and then reformatted the old drive to use as storage. Everything worked but Linux Mint was very slow to boot. I eventually found the problem to be two listings for the swap file in FSTAB. After checking for the correct location with gparted I commented out the obsolete swap file entry and normal boot times were restored.
Hope this helps with anyone having a similar problem.
