I'm running LM 20.1 Mate on a Medion Koya laptop. I did have W 8.1 dual booted with LM 20 Mate, but due to a hickup I managed to delete W8.1, not a total loss!
I've retained the UEFI boot system with LM 20.1 Mate.
I can image the HDD with Clonezilla via CD, as USB version wouldn't boot.
How do I get a USB option to appear in the in the selective boot menu with an F12?

If the USB drive isn't showing up as an option on the Boot Menu, then it's probably not being detected as bootable.jbh911 wrote: I can image the HDD with Clonezilla via CD, as USB version wouldn't boot.

Does the USB drive boot on other devices? Was the Clonezilla ISO verified before writing to USB? How was the ISO written to USB?
Re: Can't get USB boot functional!
Yes, the Clonezilla USB does boot another laptop.joefootball wrote:

Yes, the Clonezilla ISO was verified before writing to USB.
The ISO was written to the USB via LM 20 Mate > Accessories > USB Image Writer.

Re: Can't get USB boot functional!
Then it's clearly not the USB drive. Does any other bootable USB drive show up on the Boot Menu? Is the USB drive already inserted prior to power-up?jbh911 wrote: Yes, the Clonezilla USB does boot another laptop.

Re: Can't get USB boot functional!
JoeFootball asks:
Kadaitcha Man asks:
Security Boot - Enabled > boots into LM 20.1 Mate OK.
So, a mix of setting does the trick. Fantastic!
Thanks, JoeFootball and Kadaitcha Man got me heading in the right direction.
In word YES!Is the USB drive already inserted prior to power-up?
Kadaitcha Man asks:
Boot Type > Legacy USB Support - Enabled > Yes for USB Clonezilla & LM 20.1 Mate! But no LM 20.1 via HDD.The issue could be due to secure boot. AFIK, it disables USB booting so you might want to check your UEFI/BIOS settings.
Security Boot - Enabled > boots into LM 20.1 Mate OK.
So, a mix of setting does the trick. Fantastic!
