Does anyone know if Mint 20.1 is supported by Nvidia GTX 460 graphics card, the card is getting rather elderly and would not work when I tried to run Mint 20.0 so I switched back to what is now Mint 19.3.
I just don't want to go through the hassle, if there hasn't been some updates that function correctly. When reading about 20.1 today, it mentioned one of the updates was to some of the older graphic cards/drivers but no specific information was given, therefore my question?

Re: Mint Cinamon 20.1 drivers
Nvidia is still supporting the card and is listing the Nvidia-390 as the driver for it. If Nvidia is still supporting it then Ubuntu/Mint is definitely still supporting it. Plenty of people are using the Nvidia-390 driver on versions of LM20.

Thank you for the reply. When I was trying to to load Mint 20, (Karl) was helping me) we had a real rough time with the drivers. I finally gave up and loaded an earlier version of Mint. However I would really like to do it now if there is no problems, but I now find myself afraid to chance it again because if there is something wrong with the drivers for the GTX460 and I have to buy a new graphics card I'm in trouble! The prices are absolutely crazy. I wanted to get an Nvidia 3060 but the prices are from $400.00 to over $1000. Now, I only see SOLD OUT on it up to about $600.00 or so. They are trying to say there is a shortage but I believe it's just a big con!!!!!
Re: Mint 20.1 Cinnamon drivers
You were using the Nvidia-390 drivers here and they apparently already work on your system for your GTX460. You use the same Nvidia-390 driver for LM20 that you do for LM19. There is not a different driver for LM20.Upton wrote: ⤴Thu Jul 29, 2021 2:55 pm Thank you for the reply. Re: Mint 20.1 Cinnamon drivers
OK, that makes sense, I'll download Mint 20.1 and give it a go or should I use Mint 20.2?
Thank you.
Thank you.

Re: Mint 20.1 Cinnamon drivers
There is no Mint 21.1.
It is your choice to try LM20.1 or LM20.2. Both are available and both will need updated after you install them.

OK, thanks for all the advice, the 20 was a typo, sorry for that, I'll correct that before you get a million reply for the new version that is non existent !
