boot issues

Post by oklord »

Good day!

I installed Linux Mint on hard drive give /root 100gigs and the rest for /home. Then I realized /home was only 250gigs and not the rest of the TeraByte on the drive. So I used DISKS to resize partition cause I read it could be done and rebooted but now can't get in. I booted to USB and did a restore but it still won't get in. I have data I need before I scrub things.
What I see now when I boot to USB is the 1 TB Drive has /home and it appears to be bootable, but it's not. Things come up and it hangs on the LM logo screen even after 10 minutes.

Thoughts?
Thanks!

Sorry you are having troubles.
Did you have windows on it before? Did you want to keep that?
Are secure boot and fast boot turned off in the bios?
It's generally wise to take a disk or partition image before resizing partitions.

Live boot and try to mount the drive. Does it mount? If so, get your data.
Then type this in a terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxrz
Post the output in "Code" tags. The button that inserts these tags is marked </>
Then post the output of these in a terminal:

Code: Select all

sudo fdisk -l
df -Th
