Post by Paolo1969 »

Dear Forum, I instaled Debian & Ulyssa 20 versions but no one is stable in my machine, I would like to go back but installing with a 1 Tera HD portable drive (Samsung) I decided to create partitions and now I am a bit lost in how to proceed. Could anyone help?
The screen is sayng:
[2.972406] sd 2:0:0:0 [sdb] No Catching mode page found
[2.972445] sd 2:0:0;0 [sdb] Assuming drive cache: write through

BusyBox v1.30.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.30.1-4ubuntu6.3) built-in shell (ash)

Thanks,

Paolo

Without some technical information, we can’t help you. Please post an inxi -Fxxxzr report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and how Mint sees it.

Here is how to generate the report and post it:
Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the command

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxzr
exactly as it has been typed here.

Mark the complete text output which the command will display with your mouse.
Press the keyboard shortcut <Shift><Ctrl>C to copy the marked text into the clipboard.
Enclose the results between the code markers by selecting </> from the mini toolbar above the textbox where you type your reply then paste <Ctrl>V them in your reply between the code markers
Results
.

The results will help us to help you.

When you say LM20 isn't stable on your machine, please describe exactly what you mean. It may be easier to fix than to reinstall LM19. Looking at your inxi output, it appears your graphics driver isn't loading properly. Is that the only problem?

The problem is that each time I turn my computer off I never know if I would be able to work on it the next day, it always says:

Code: Select all

Checking Media Presence.....
Media Present.....
Start PXE over IPv4.
Then PXE-E18 (something) and appears the options between

Cinnamon
Ulyssa
some other

when I choose most of the time return to BusyBox, v1.30.1 (Ubuntu 1:1.30.1-4ubuntu6.3) buit in shell (ash)
Enter help
(initramfs)
What can I do to avoid that?

Maybe disable PXE boot in the bios:
