I had noticed my Firefox freezing and just rebooted to correct but the computer would not boot.. I have managed to boot it with a memory stick but have not full access to programs and really have no idea where to begin to restore. At first l thought it may have been a hardware issue but as l am up and running with the memory stick figure it is software...hopefully the system snapshot above may contain some clues...TIA

What happens when you try to boot, any error messages?

If I remember correctly, that mint Kernel: 5.0.0-32-generic x86_64 has been superseded.

Also, I assume the OP is booting from the 5.0 on the memory stick.

The 5.0.0.32 Kernel was just one l had selected in an attempt to go back to an older kernel...sorry l do not recall the one l had been using but it was working fine.
When l initially try to start the laptop it goes to the LENOVO Splash screen then scrolls to the page where you have the option of selecting a kernel and advanced options and memory test. It then goes to another page very briefly where it mentions hardware error but closes too fast for me to read anything else then goes to another screen that shows.... (0.034022); hardware error: cpu 0; machine check :0: bank 6: , Harware error:TSC 0 addr ffb07640 misc 1:1.27.2Image 78a00000086 Image
BusyBoxv1.27.2 (ubuntu
In very small font difficult to read

Sorry l took a photo of the screen and tried to insert it in the message but it is not working

Is that my problem? Busybox? or are you just saying to try this fix? My screens are not the ones illustrated in the repair procedure you have suggested.

We can't tell without seeing the Busybox errors you are getting. It would help if you can post a screenshot somewhere or give some further details.

If you type 'exit' next to initramfs & hit Enter, it should show more details. Post those details here if you can.

Then in that initramfs shell as per sleeper12 indications/link, write exit, press Enter and see results.
