My file is empty.
Searching the Internet shows that a HOOK line should be in it and some information.

Re: Should this file 'mkinitcpio.conf' have entries?
/etc/mkinitcpio.conf should not even exist on Debian/Ubuntu/Mint; its equivalent is /etc/initramfs/initramfs.conf
Re: Should this file 'mkinitcpio.conf' have entries?
There is no directory named 'initramfs' on my system.
Mint 20.2
Found the file but not much in it.

Re: Should this file 'mkinitcpio.conf' have entries?
/etc/initramfs-tools/initramfs.conf I meant.
Re: [Solved] Should this file 'mkinitcpio.conf' have entries?
Shouldn't be fully empty;
man initramfs.conf
describes it. More generally, man initramfs-tools
for also information on hook scripts and all.
