I am on single boot linux mint 20.2 cinnamon on my 250gb ssd.
In total i have 1 250gb SSD, 1 500 GB HDD and 2 more 1TB HDDs in my laptop. There is intel core i5 and AMD radeon 2gb graphics.
I earlier had windows 10 and used obs studio and davinci resolve for my work which worked well.
Since i moved to Linux, i am unable to run Davinci, also the small list appearance of images in file managers reduce my speed of editing.
Apart from video editing, all is great in Linux and i would like to use it as much as possible.
Hence, i would like to dual boot install windows 10 for davinci resolve video editing in my laptop.
How should i go about it? Should i use the SSD for windows 10 or HDD? Will i have to remove linnux mint and then install windows 10 and then reinstall linux mint in HDD? Or can i simply install windows 10 in HDD without performance issues for davinci?
Installing windows along with Linux mint.

Re: Installing windows along with Linux mint.
Hi,
- 1st remove all your disks from your computer, except the disk where you will install Windows 10, connected to SATA interface, cable / slot 0
- install Windows 10
- remove Windows 10 disk, install your Linux disk connected to SATA, cable or slot 0
- install Windows 10 disk, connected to SATA, cable or slot 1.
Boot, you should either:
- have GRUB Menu, if it is enabled on Linux; if GRUB menu shows Windows, that's all, you will be able to choose Linux / GRUB at each startup; if GRUB menu does not show Windows, enter the command:
then, once done, reboot and all whould be OK.
- or boot directly on Linux, if GRUB is not enabled; enable GRUB, use this tutorial https://linuxmint-user-guide.readthedoc ... /grub.html, "How to make the Grub menu always visible".
Regards,
MN

Re: Installing windows along with Linux mint.
Thank you!
I didn't know that one should disconnect the hardware connections, maybe windows causes problems if not disconnected.
I think i will try out the dual boot. Hopefully, performs well enough.

Just to avoid Windows write anything on Linux disk (and reciprocally, to avoid Linux writes anything on Windows disk when you install Linux).
