since I manually installed Kernel 5.15 (see this post) on LM 20.2 I had the small problem that the shutdown process (until my notbook completely switches off) is now about 10 seconds longer than before.
Observation: if I shutdown everything runs very fast (windows are closed, screen gets black, LM logo is spinning, screen black) and after about 3-4 seconds formerly Notebook just went off - but now with 5.15 after this a static LM-logo reapperas and stays for about 10-15 seconds, in the end the fan rotates higher (like during heavy CPU usage) and finally notebook shuts down.
Inspired by this tread I tried to find any clue by removing the kernel parameter
quite splash
from my start entry (via grub customizer) - und despite I can't see any lines of error during shutdown the behaviour is now as fast as expected - after less than 5 seconds after pressing shutdown, the notebook is off. Without the additional 10 seconds (and also without any LM logo).Could you give me some hints where to look for some root causes?
Thanks!
I did already checked logs with
journalctl -b -1
, but couldn't find any lines with error/failure (details also here). Seems everything is shutting down correctly, also inlc. the filesystem (therefore at the time index the static LM-logo reappears, no logs are available, I guess). Here some more details via inxi (-G), say if you need more:
