log in round a bout and disc full error

Post by rodder_s »

Hi and sorry if this is answered already but seems the main way is to get to a terminal which if you cant log in doesnt help. For a few days I was getting the message re boot disc sda1 being nearly full but everything ran ok. I then performed the current update which left me not being able to log in on this machine. I can run the same log in elsewhere and Im in but all the current back ups etc are on the one I cant use. I am using linus mint cinnamon on a macbook so need to know any shortcuts on that. Any help would be appreciated. Screen shots are a bit hard cause Im not in the system however can try to do that if required. If I could get to my timeshift I could delete the current kernel update. I do also have the original install on a stick but that wont let me access my data. When I check my disc the sda1 partition is 537Mb. There is also a thing on the sytem taking 1.9Gb names /cdrom,/casper/filesystem.squashfs. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to get to Timeshift in your install media. Maybe remove old Timeshift snapshots there, if any. Also, you might free up some space with:

Code: Select all

 sudo apt autoremove
