Upgraded to 20.3 few days ago... Now no boot after usrmerge

I can no longer boot into my system after doing the apt install usrmerge as I was instructed by a system notification... I upgraded to 20.3 a few days ago and had no issues. When I let computer sit for a while it ends up going to an all green screen. I tried boot options and tried to get to a terminal except I can not login.

I type my username then password and it flashes an error so quick I cannot see and tries to make me login again. If I type the wrong password it will tell me it is a bad password so this is odd. I think I'm gonna have to to a fresh install. Any ideas what to try next?
