Mint 8 Languages

Post by traga2whiskys » Sun Nov 29, 2009 1:31 pm

I just installed the main edition from Mint 8, and it seems to have a big bug on the language. I installed in Portuguese but most of it is in english, Menu is 80% in english, some tools, the configuration panel, even firefox and thunderbird (and they used to come in Portuguese), etc. I know for sure Portuguese was complete, cause i belong to the translation team.

Anyone knows more about this?

I'll refer this to the team - it would be nice to know if the md5sum was correct and if a reinstall solves it - it can be a fluke in your system, I have not seen any other reports like this one

md5 was ok.

I solve the problem searching the term "Portuguese" in the synaptic tool, i found language-pack-gnome-pt , language-pack-pt, language-pack-pt-base and language-pack-gnome-pt-base were not installed and therefore i installed them. Everything now is in Portuguese and till now no more problems were found concerning languages.

Ok - these are downloaded when you install (unless it's the universal edition)
That download failed for some reason
Case closed
