Should systemd-coredump be installed?

I have noticed that my 'System Reports/Crash reports' are not available without enabling systemd-coredump, which makes me ask this question;
Should systemd-coredump be installed now and why is it not installed by default?

Linux Mint 20.3 Una 64-bit (Legacy BIOS)
Kernel: 5.4.0-167-generic
Memory 7.8 GiB. CPU AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 5200+ × 2
Graphics: AMD CEDAR HDD space available 951.4 GB
