What drivers are you trying to install?

Why do you need to connect to Wifi using the terminal?

I do not understand what drivers you think you need.

The Intel graphic driver is in the kernel and should load automatically when you boot. There are no proprietary Intel drivers you can load. The open-source nouveau driver will load for the Nvidia GPU. You do not need the proprietary Nvidia driver at this point because your system defaults to using the Intel graphics.

The audio drivers also load from the kernel and the information you provided earlier indicate they all loaded.
Audio:
Device-1: Intel Comet Lake PCH cAVS vendor: Dell driver: snd_hda_intel
v: kernel bus ID: 00:1f.3 chip ID: 8086:06c8
Device-2: NVIDIA driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel bus ID: 01:00.1
chip ID: 10de:228b
Device-3: Razer USA type: USB driver: hid-generic,snd-usb-audio,usbhid
bus ID: 1-1.3:7 chip ID: 1532:0511 serial: <filter>

If you do not have internet working then perhaps you need a different Wifi driver, but I do not understand why you think you need audio or graphics card drivers.

Can you provide the inxi data for us? To do that, please open the System Reports app and click the System Information tab on the left. Your computer's information should come up in the right pane. Then click Copy, and paste the results into a reply window here so we can see how Linux Mint views your hardware.

If you can not get it from your installed version, maybe you can get it from a live session version.

what is inxi? how do i acess it?
Please type this in a terminal - again:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxxxmprz
Post the output to this forum in "Code" tags. The button that inserts these tags is marked </>, which is in the mini toolbar above the edit box where you type your reply.
viewtopic.php?f=42&t=364929
If your Linux Mint installation isn't in English, prefix any commands that you want to share output of with LC_ALL=C. That forces output to be English. For example instead of running the command "inxi -Fxxxmprz", you'd run the command "LC_ALL=C inxi -Fxxxmprz".

We are looking to get the proper drivers from the kernel for audio and display.
For instance, the N/A for graphics driver is not good:

Graphics:
Device-1: Intel UHD Graphics vendor: Dell driver: N/A bus ID: 00:02.0
chip ID: 8086:9bc4
Device-2: NVIDIA vendor: Dell driver: N/A bus ID: 01:00.0
chip ID: 10de:24dc

No, they do not need to be installed manually. For most people all the drivers they need are already included with the kernel and or the operating system and will load automatically. There are some exceptions for very new or specialized equipment for which proprietary drivers might be needed.

The display app should save the change when you click the Apply button. If it is not, there may be a bug.

This data shows you need to update your system. Open Update Manager and install the updates available there. There have been quite a few updates for Cinnamon. Maybe one of the updates will fix the fragmentation issue.

There is a still a graphics problem.

I'm not sure why, but multiple people have posted seeing llvmpipe. After you update your system, please provide the output of inxi -Fxxxmprz again so we can see if the updates helped. I'll then explain how to get the proprietary Nvidia drivers, if you want them.

That is a completely new issue and I recommend you make a new topic in the Networking section of the forum and make sure to copy and paste your inxi output from this post. By providing that information and posting on that forum, the people who normally answer Wifi questions will see your issue and help you. I do not normally help with Wifi issues.

Your Wifi driver is showing as installed, but I do not know why it is not up and running. There are a variety of reasons that can happen, so it is better if you create a new topic.

Your issue of "Mint can't boot" was solved quite a while ago and this topic should be marked solved.

It might help wifi if you disable Fast Startup in Windows.
