[SOLVED] Laptop does not properly shut down after updates..
Before downloading all updates my laptop worked fine which is an Asus ZenBook 13 the one with the screenpad. Anyways when I shut down the computer I get a long message and at the end it says Linux fixing recursive fault but reboot is needed. When I select suspend it's fine but the shut down requires to push the power button until it shuts down on the screen with the error message. Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?

In situations like this first try the graceful reboot.
Press ctrl+prtscn--release prtscn but continue holdiing ctrl---enter the following keyboard sequence:
r e i s u b
Much better than a (dangerous) hard poweroff.
In most of these situations we want a reboot. But if you want a power down
then enter

It's also sysreq rather than prtscn, for me anyway.

Re: Laptop does not properly shut down after updates..
Your system has a 10th-gen Intel CPU. The 5.4 kernel is too old to have proper support for it. That's one reason your computer's CPU temperature is on the high side. Please upgrade to the 5.13 kernel.
Instructions for upgrading to the 5.13 kernel:
Instructions for upgrading to the 5.13 kernel:
- Open Update Manager.
- Select View > Linux Kernels and click Continue.
- Make sure 5.13 is selected on the left panel and then click the top-most option on the right panel. An "Install" button will appear.
- Install the kernel and then reboot for it to become active.
