I have serious boot problems with my Inspiron 5770, which is set up to dual-boot Mint 20.3 and Windows 10 from a SATA SSD. Whilst running a Mint session, I managed to do something - I don't exactly know what - that has damaged the boot. It will now only boot as far as a grub prompt. I was able once to use a USB stick with a boot-repair installation to get a session running but that told me that it was unable to do a repair - I was unable to save any more detail of this. Now, I am unable even to access the UEFI boot menu with the F12 key - this gives no response and I still just arrive at the grub prompt.
I'd appreciate any advice on what to do at this point. I have a smaller SSD that was used as the boot drive until about 2 weeks ago. Is this likely to work?
