Hi everyone,
I hope I am not the only one with this problem but I've been struggling with my system ever since kernel 4.15.0-177 up until the last one so far which is 0-188.
They all install normally, and then I reboot and everything is normal. The next day my problems start and they vary between:
- not being able to boot at all.
- veeeeery loooooong time to boot.
- no sound.
- no connectivity to wifi.
- no bluetooth mouse.
=== ALL of the above or just some of it ===
Sometimes a kernel would work properly for 2 day and then the same problems start.
I always keep rolling back to kernel 0-176 which was the last one working well with me.
I hope I am not the only one with this problem because something is not right since 0-177 got introduced.
Right now I am good with 0-176 but I am not sure if it's ok to keep on using it and ignoring all future updates.
If anyone wud like to ask me any questions about my system please feel free but beware since I'm an absolutely ignorant person when it comes to tech things so if you need any info just please tell me how to get it for you and I'll do it.
Thanks.

There's no systejm info to go on there, copy/paste the text output of inxi -Fxxxrz run in the terminal.

Re: All kernels starting 4.15.0-177 till 4.15.0-188 not working
Please upgrade to the 5.4 kernel which is available in Update Manager. Your system has a 7th-gen Intel and the newer kernel will be a better match for it.
Many people with 7th, 8th, and 9th-gen Intel CPUs began having issues after a 4.15 kernel update. (I do not recall the exact number right now.) Updating to the 5.4 kernel cleared their issues.

Re: All kernels starting 4.15.0-177 till 4.15.0-188 not working
I tried it once a long time ago but it didn't work either. Do you recommend that I try it still? Thanks.
Re: All kernels starting 4.15.0-177 till 4.15.0-188 not working
Ok... I am informing you that I went right ahead and upgraded to 5.4 and all seems to be working fine so far. I tried to restart = all well. I tried to shut down = all well. I hope it passes the 2-day test and all keeps well. Will keep you posted.SMG wrote: ⤴Sat Jul 02, 2022 9:31 amPlease upgrade to the 5.4 kernel which is available in Update Manager. I was finally able to find the other topic on this issue Kernel Update: 4.15.0.177.166 SERIOUS PROBLEMS and those users all found the 5.4 kernel addressed their issues so I am hopeful it will for you as well.

Update Day-1
Engine is purring like a cat! Improvements I have noticed so far:
1. Easy and fast start up.
2. Much much better temperature (I live in Egypt and the temperature during the summer is scorching hot.. I always use a cooling pad fan for the laptop and still the laptop fan would rarely ever stop running).... after this update I haven't heard the fan working except a few seconds per day!!! I can't believe my ears.
3. My browser starts up soooo fast, much faster than before.
Re: [SOLVED] All kernels starting 4.15.0-177 till 4.15.0-188 not working
You're welcome. Glad to hear your computer is running better than it did with the older kernel.
