Distorted Screen on Using Live CD

Postby ripkirby » Fri Dec 22, 2006 12:41 am

I've been trying to install Linux Mint. When I boot up the LiveCD I get through the loading screen fine but after that all I see is gibberish. I tried the safe graphics mode and I still get the same problem. I tried changing the resolution upon booting up and I still can't get to the desktop. When I do, I can get to the console meaning that there isn't anything wrong with my computer. Is there a command to install LiveCD from the console?
I use a Nvidia Geforce 6800. How can I solve this problem? And/Or How can I install Linux Mint without getting to the desktop, such as text install?

ripkirby, im not sure if your machine have enough resources to accommodate the liveCD install. maybe you can post back your machine specs.

atm, LinuxMint doesn't have an alternate CD installer (AFAIK). but maybe they will have one soon.
