Unhide GRUB boot menu in nvme0n1p7/boot/grub/grub.cfg
Boot successfully repaired.
You can now reboot your computer.
Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Linux Mint 21 Vanessa (21) entry (nvme0n1p6/efi/ubuntu/shimx64.efi file) !
If your computer reboots directly into Windows, try to change the boot order in your UEFI firmware.
If your UEFI firmware does not allow to change the boot order, change the default boot entry of the Windows bootloader.
For example you can boot into Windows, then type the following command in an admin command prompt:
bcdedit /set {bootmgr} path \EFI\ubuntu\shimx64.efi

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Hey shailjakant!
What exactly is the problem with booting into Mint? You are not greeted at all with the option to boot Linux Mint from your local drive? You are able to see Grub, the linux bootloader, boot Mint and end up with an error message or no graphical environment?
The Boot repair report you posted indicates that repair was successful but the default OS in your boot order is Windows. Have you checked your boot priorities in UEFI settings?
Anyway posting a full report of system specs is "standard procedure" on this forum, see How To Get Help!. It will help us to form a more accurate assessment of your problem.
Lastly, why did you need that boot repair in the first place?

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
I am using dual boot from last 1month. Yesterday I recieved an update in windows and after that update i directly boot to windows. When I tried to change the os for that I tried to open the grub menu but there i haven't found Linux mint option there was only windows.
Then I tried to repair the boot by using live Linux mint bootable usb.
But after trying that too i haven't got any success.
I think update of windows messed up with the efi files of Linux mint.
Not an expert just a guess.
Please help me.

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Major upgrades from one version of Windows to another can do this.
UEFI systems are less prone to this problem.
Now at a closer look, you have 2 EFI partitions in your disk.
An 100gig (nvme0n1p1), the one probably created by Windows and another 300gig (nvme0n1p6) probably created by Linux.
Was it a guided installation or did you partition your disk manually?
Having only one, the same for both OSes is standard. UEFI bios may only recognize the first one.
In that case it is critical to deactivate 'fast startup' on Windows.
I would get rid the nvme0n1p6 and re-run boot repair but maybe I'm wrong n your current setup is salvageable.

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Yeah nvme0n1p6 is the efi partition for No I have done the partition manually
I thought that creating separate efi partition for Linux will help me from this type of damage but still I am here
Yeah I have already deactivated the 'fast startup' of windows even before installing Linux
Yeah i checked UEFI settings there is only windows

Found Windows Boot Manager on /dev/nvme0n1p1@/EFI/Microsoft/Boot/bootmgfw.efi
Unhide GRUB boot menu in nvme0n1p7/boot/grub/grub.cfg
Boot successfully repaired.
You can now reboot your computer.
Please do not forget to make your UEFI firmware boot on the Linux Mint 21 Vanessa (21) entry (nvme0n1p1/efi/ubuntu/shimx64.efi file) !

Didn't you read the remark by SMG in your 2nd post? Those c-tags are for this output worse than no formatting tags at all. The way to go are the code-tags, in the forum the button

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Hello, shailjakant.
/dev/nvme0n1p1
/dev/nvme0n1p6
If I understand the boot repair log correctly, the partition, which you want to have as your only EFI partition, is /dev/nvme0n1p6.
Provided this is correct, I would boot from the Linux Mint live system.
Next I would launch gparted from the live desktop.
In GParted I would disable the flags boot and esp from the disk partition /dev/nvme0n1p1.
I would then close GParted, shutdown the machine and remove the Mint Live System.
Finally, I would power on the machine again and keep my fingers crossed that the Grub menu appears and that Linux Mint will come up.
P.S.:
In case /dev/nvme0n1p1 needs to be re-enabled and get back its boot and esp flags, I would use GParted from the live system again in order to do so.
HTH,
Karl
As had been explained in a post above, there are 2 disk partitions, which have got the flags boot and esp set, which qualify them as the EFI partition:
/dev/nvme0n1p1
/dev/nvme0n1p6

Hi,shailjakant wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 24, 2022 2:45 am I am using dual boot from last 1month.
When you installed Linux Mint, it installed GRUB menu on Windows EFI partition.
Once Windows updated, it refreshed its EFI partition and deleted the GRUB menu.
This is a well known problem.
With a single disk and two partitions, you should install 1st Linux, then Windows.
Best is to install them in two different disks, as explained in this tutorial: viewtopic.php?f=42&t=381590
If you don't want to change anything in your installation you can still enter your computer UEFI at boot (generally with ESC key) and select the Linux Mint drive.

MN

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
I don't have two disks to install them separately and I tried to boot from mint by entering to UEFI by pressing (F12 in my case ) at the time of boot but there wasn't any Linux mint option available, only Linux mint was there.MikeNovember wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 24, 2022 10:41 amHi,shailjakant wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 24, 2022 2:45 am I am using dual boot from last 1month. Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Thanks but I have deleted the partition 6 now because Linux was using partition 1 as an EFI partition so I just tried to run boot repair after deleting that partitionkarlchen wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:52 am If I understand the boot repair log correctly, the partition, which you want to have as your only EFI partition, is /dev/nvme0n1p6.

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
This worked for me after disabling the flags of partition 1 I am able to boot into Linux mint but to boot into windows I have to set those flags back and then I again loose the Linux is there any way to merge these two efi so that I can switch in booth os without again and again disabling the flagskarlchen wrote: ⤴Sat Sep 24, 2022 9:52 am If I understand the boot repair log correctly, the partition, which you want to have as your only EFI partition, is /dev/nvme0n1p6.

Re: unable to boot into linux mint
Hello, shailjakant.
While only /dev/nvme0n1p6 has got the boot and the esp flags, i.e. while you are running on Linux Mint, execute the terminal command
This should make sure that the Linux Mint Grub menu offers the option to boot Linux Mint on top of the list and to boot Windows below.
This will work, provided the grub os-prober is still enabled. It might be enabled by default on Mint 21 still.
After having executed the command This command should display the boot menu items available in your Linux Mint Grub menu.
Please, share the output of the command here. It should list Windows as well.
Provided it does, during the next reboot the Grub menu should permit you to either start up Linux Mint or Windows.
Regards,
Karl
