Can’t find command ‘grub_platform’ while trying to boot using a pendrive.
I can not find a solution for this.

After an eternity with the black screen it finally booted from the usb. It seemed like a error, that's why I put the post. Apparently it was a matter of waiting a long time.

yep---especially older usb2 devices--cobwebs wait

is the system installed on the usb? (pendrive)

Did you find a solution? There is one over on AskUbuntu.
I tried it and it works but it is painfully slow. Like 1/10 the normal speed. Be prepared for long, long waits.

/dev/sdc
:Code: Select all
sudo gdisk /dev/sdc
Enter r for transformation.
Enter g for converting GPT to MBR.
Enter w for writing to MBR partition.
Enter y to finalize and exit.
sudo fdisk -l /dev/sdc
Don't stop where the ink does.
