2. Lenovo loading screen appears.
3. "[ 0.84552] x86/cpu: VMX (outside TXT) disabled by BIOS" message appears, followed by a flashing underscore on the next line.
4. Linux Mint logo appears.
5. Boots to black screen with cursor.
6. Taskbar appears before screen immediately turns off.
Solved the issue by using an older version.

Issues can often be hardware dependent and Lenovo makes a lot of different models. If you can boot to a live session of Linux Mint (using your install usb/dvd), please do that and provide system information. Open the System Reports app and click the System Information tab on the left. Your computer's information should come up in the right pane. Then click Copy, and paste the results into a reply window here so we can see how Linux Mint views your hardware.
If you are not able to do that, please provide the specific model computer (or a link to a page with the model's information).

It is not clear, if you want to install Mint or if Mint is already installed.
