(SOLVED) Upgrade to version 21

Post by Hendrick »

Trying to upgrade from 20.3 to version 21. However, it seems this cannot be done without using the Timeshift program.
Now I'm stuck, because I use a different program for my backup strategy (Macrium Reflect).
What happened to the famous Linux Mint flexibility? Is there perhaps a workaround available?

??

Uh, that was not my experience at all.

I use Timeshift, verified the backup for today, and let it go.....

From there, I followed the instructions in Clem's Blog and it worked flawlessly.

That question was asked in the blog comments here and the response is:
In “Menu -> Preferences -> Requirements” uncheck “Recent Timeshift snapshot”

Had not noticed the Menu option. Thanks for the tip. Will try later today and let you know.
