mintupgrade not working

Post by malnon »

Hi,
I have a beebox mini pc and whenever I try to run mintupgrade it always fails and asks me to plug my pc in, the pc is plugged into the mains so I do not understand this or know how to bypass this. Last few lines from the log

Running check 'Linux Mint version'
Check succeeded: Linux Mint version

Running check 'Power source'

Running check 'Power source'

Running check 'Power source'
mintupgrade-inhibit-power: no process found

Any help would be much appreciated.

You are the second person with a Gemini computer running into this issue. The other person has a Gemini X55 Unable to Upgrade to 21. Power Error and is running the exact same UEFI version.

My guess is there is something in the hardware indicating the computer is a laptop, but I don't know what it might be.

Considering there are now two of you with this problem, you might want to open an issue on linuxmint /mintupgrade : Issues to see if the developers might know a way to work around the issue. If not, you might just have to do a fresh install of LM21.

Thx for the update, exactly what I was thinking. Apologies for not finding the previous entry in the forums. I think I will wait for the December release and just do a clean install.
