Erratic boot behaviour.

Post by mintinator14 »

Hi,
Getting odd booting behaviour.Sometimes the grub menu appears and sometimes boots straight into mint.Get occasional black screens on cold boot which needs a hard reset on laptop then boots fine.

For some peculiar reason the boot up has slowed down..there has been no updates to the grub etc.
below is my gparted layout for my drive.

When i re-installed mint from my live iso it was running like a rocket but seems to have slowed down a bit as time has marched on..
below is systemd -analyze blame outputs.

I assume you want it to boot to grub every time??

That is obviously a problem. I suggest you hit ESC every boot to see what is going on. Or turn off quiet-splash.

Lets put some number to this. If your machine is booting withing 20 - 30 seconds, I would say it is good. Maybe even 40 seconds is OK.
