show the missing part of unused sata.

Post by karuga »

After installing mint 8 and 9 on a computer,i left some 50 Gb of unused disk while working on the partition editor. I did not even format that part.i just left it unallocated.
The problem is that i cant be able to locate this unused portion. It is not seen as a partition, hence not visible even in hard disk editors like gparted.
How do i make this portion visible?

In Gparted it will show up as a gray area, see attached. You need to format it for it to be visible to your File Manager.

Oh . . . I love MSDOS . . . funny you cannot manipulate the free space using the provided Disk Utility program.
Error: Too many primary partitions.
ahh . . we all can only have 4 primary, but many extended/virtual . . .
