Unable to RUN Mint 10 from DVD

Post by a1623yankee »

Am a beginner, newbie, old guy.
Started with linux with Ubuntu 10.10. Loved it.
Upgraded at recommendation to Ubuntu 11.04. LOATHE it! (The ever present sidebar in particular)
Searched for simplicity and high scores and decided on Mint 10
Downloaded Mint 10 and burned to disc with Brasero
Mint 10 WILL NOT RUN
Error Message "Can not find the Autorun Program"
I have Grub 2
I have VM Toolbox
I have Startup Disc Creator
What else do I need and how do I get this Mint 10 to install?

Did you choose to burn it as a image in Brasero? Sounds as if you may have just burned them as files only. Once burned as a .iso (image) then reboot the computer and makes sure the BIOS is set to boot from the cd/dvd drive or select that during boot up (maybe F12), it should boot off the cd automatically.
