This is either an error in ISO-linux or problems with SATA from what I find.
Have you checked the md5sum and burned slowly?

Hi Krovvy Do you have a place to put Mint meaning do you have the drive pre partitioned. If the drive has only one partition it won't work because down the line its going to want to format the drive and it can't format the operating drive or it would wipe itself out. The drive has to have a partition to install Mint in or free space. You can't put a partition in used space however you can resize the main partition and make it smaller then you will have a place to make a partition.
