Dualboot

Post by stal » Mon Dec 12, 2011 11:06 am

I'm running mint 12 and Win 7 in dual boot, I lost the dual boot via an backup I should have in place, so I Saved win 7 so I could boot up into a system.

But now I make a boot disk I managed to boot up on mint 12, but how can I dual boot back so I can start in both systems again.

Have tried sudo grub update, it wrote fine all systems but only started up in win 7 again ...

Must say that it has now mbr belonging win 7

Help what do I

Just want to tell you, I do not use anything other than Mint, and have not done it for 2 years, this problem was my daughters, I hate M$.

When you dual boot you will eventually need this tool:
Super Grub Disk----burn it from http://www.supergrubdisk.org/super-grub2-disk/
This will enable you to boot a 'lost' linux partition. Once in linux you can re-run grub/grub2.

And this site will give you another way: http://tricks2fix.topwebhostingzone.com ... inux-mint/
