Upgrading to Mint 12

Post by XPomJon »

Hi,
I'm running Mint 11. Can I upgrade to Mint 12 ( if so how? ) or do I need to do a re-install of Mint 12?

Thanks.....

I definitely prefer fresh installs with new releases but if you want to upgrade via apt-get this tutorial is very good:

My advice would be to simply install Mint 12 in a new partition. This will allow you keep your working Mint 11 and experiment with Mint 12, and choose between the at boot time. Katya is top of the Gnome2 line and rock solid. Lisa, Gnome3, is a bit immature and underdeveloped, and can be a bit troublesome and finicky.

Edit to add, I'm using 12 now, happily, but I killed it by some bad choices and reinstalled, and some things that worked in 11 don't work now, and a few others are far more CPU intensive.
