You do not need to remove Gnome. Just install KDE version of the Linux Mint and use same root ( / )partition for KDE as you did for Gnome.

This will requiring using the manual partitioning scheme, if you first installed Mint using the simple run side by side command. Simple use the installer in manual mode to delete the partitions containing the Gnome version of Lisa, then install KDE. Depending on your system hardware and available primary partitions you can then manually create a swap partition, /(root) partition, and /home partitions at a minimum. I would place swap on a primary(sda1, 2, 3, or 4 depending on what partitions Windows is installed in) and the / and /home on logical partitions (sda 5,6,7......17) as you can have up to 17 of these types compared to only 4 primary.
