Is the dev/mapper/cryptswap1 error fatal?

Post by Robin_J »

I've read a little about a bug where dev/mapper/cryptswap1 can't mount the encrypted home folder drive for encryption on boot, and I'm getting this on one of my laptops with encrypted home folder. If left for a few seconds the error message goes away and the boot continues. Is this a fatal error or does it just take a while to load the relevant stuff (non-technical language, sorry) hence we see an error message until the problem resolves itself?

Hi. You could check out this link to get an idea why you get this error, and how you can resolve it:

The link you've given there seems to refer only to where people don't have encrypted drives - at a first reading at least it seems to indicate that people are getting the error when they didn't encrypt their drives on installation.
