I had the same problem untill I downloaded the torrent instead of from the ftp site.

maybe a problem with the ftp site??

I burned 5 cd's from the ftp site none worked but the torrent did.

I downloaded my first iso from USA: webergyltd.com and also tried planetmirror same problem. The torrent worked fine, I will download the iso again and see how it works and post the error codes here if any.

Hi.
I had the same problem, too. In my case it was my fault, because i always looked for an *.iso Data in the downloaded files, afer unpckng the download.
Thanks to the board here i found out who to do it :
Just download Mint an do not unpack it. Under XP you just have to rightclick on the archive. Then choose " Open with". Choose a burningprogramm.
With nero 6 it automatically it opened with the Isoburning dialog.
After burning was finished, i had a bootable CD.

bootable ISO

@trippboxer:
you can load a pure burnable (WinXP- or Linux-Burnprogram) ISO from os-iso.de >>> see downloadpage and if your PC-BIOS has first boot-device "cd-rom" so there will be no problem for you.

thanks for the input. i right clicked on the compressed file and chose to open with nero. nero recognized it as iso and offered to burn it immediately.

much appreciated. now all i have to do is learn how to do all of the different installs for software.
