(Solved) VLC for Linux Mint is Incomplete

Post by Alvin » Thu Oct 10, 2019 1:56 pm

My Windows VLC has features that do not appear in my Linux Mint VLC. For examples, speed control of playback, snapshots from a video clip.

Is there a more complete download of VLC than the limited one I have?

Snapshot is in toolbar opened by selection View-Advanced Controls. Speed is in Playback-Speed.
Mint Mate 19.1. Main rig is HP 800G2 I5 6500 16GB ram, 120GB boot drive, 2x3TB, 1x4TB data drives. Oldest rig is Mate 18.3 on Dell D620 with 32bits core duo.

You didn't say what version you were using. At least LM 19.x's version of vlc has all those features.
Tune up your LM 19.x: ppa:gm10/linuxmint-tools

My apologies for not looking hard enough. I guess that because I had VLC booted, it would be the same organization as in Windows. Thanks!
