Such an app doesn't exist, this is the only guide I can find that's reasonably current:

Nope..not working..tried rythmbox and amarok too mainly but unfortunately when i delete songs from ipod nano it shows synchronizing on the ipod..but later when i unplug it from usb the songs are all there albeit unuseful..just zips around.say there are aongs 1 ,2,3,4.select 1 and it would kep on scrolling to 2,3,4 and back to 1 and repeats till i get out of songs.am i doing anything wrong.dont want to use virtual bix or wine..thats why want to know if theres any app that resembles or is capable of mimicking itunes for ipod sync??

Apple doesn't play with linux, period. To get my iphone to talk to my laptop I installed win7 in a VM. Now dumped iphone in favour of android. If you want itunes install it in win in a VM.

Go to gtkpod from your Synaptic package manager to find it.

forget this post, gtkpod opens my ipod, I can see my playlist, songs, but no play button...
went to the website and.... (see pic)

I have had some success with using nemo and just letting the bit of fruit act as a storage device.
Kernel: 4.15.0-46-generic x86_64 bits
Desktop: Cinnamon 3.8.9
Distro: Linux Mint 19 Tara

Laptop HP-ProBook-470-G2 8Gb RAM SSD
Server AMD Phenom 9650 - GEForce 9400GT 6Gb RAM
+ three other Mint machines
Out of my mind - please leave a message
