Looking for an easy, straightforward way to stream a virtual webcam

Post by claude_edmonton »

I need to be able to easily stream the content of my second screen, my second desktop, on Zoom, Skype, Google Meets, other websites, etc.

My coworker on Windows just installed OBS, clicked play and it worked.

I was all excited when I saw there was a Linux version. Well, after three hours of entering countless command lines, browsing through wikis and Youtube tutorials and installing several different additional plugins that were needed and that I needed to compile, it just doesn't work, it only streams a black square.

I'm looking for an alternative, a straightforward GUI quick way to do this that doesn't require as much hassle.

Are there some other software that can do this, that I can just install easily without having to build it and install additional modules? I want to just be able to open the GUI of the software, select the source of the content I want to stream and click send to webcam. Does this exist for Linux?
