Re: Problems with browser
Hard to say without more details. Can you post the results of this command:
Code: Select all
inxi -Fxxxrz && rfkill list && iwconfig && mokutil --sb-state
Re: Problems with browser

Re: Problems with browser
Without seeing more details, I can only guess. So, check
If it shows power management is On, turn it Off with:
Reboot
iwconfig
If it shows power management is On, turn it Off with:
Code: Select all
sudo sed -i 's/3/2/' /etc/NetworkManager/conf.d/default-wifi-powersave-on.conf

Re: Problems with browser
I'm going to assume you are using wireless. Can you try a wired connection as a test? I wonder what brand and model NIC you are using?

Re: Problems with browser
To start with, you are using an unsupported version of Linux Mint. Secondly, you need to enlarge your / partition:
In accordance with the installation instructions, 30Gb should be allocated to the / partition.Drives: HDD Total Size: NA (-)
ID-1: /dev/mmcblk0 model: N/A size: 31.3GB serial: N/A
ID-2: /dev/mmcblk1 model: N/A size: 15.7GB serial: N/A

Re: Problems with browser
This is why I always recommend to Linux beginners to not mess with manual partitioning and just let Linux mint handle it...be it during the install or even after. In accordance with the installation instructions, 30Gb should be allocated to the / partition.
If you need more storage, save up the cash and just buy more storage. It's cheap enough these days.

Re: Problems with browser
As you can guess i am not a techy, i loaded linux as windows takes up to much memory for an asus notebook, i use a 16gb mini flash drive which holds operating system, when using 18 version for a number of years it was fine, i upgraded to 20 because i was getting the wi fi drop out issue when changing web pages to see if would solve the issue. It sounds like no obvious solution that i am capable of so i imagine its curtains for linux and me.
Re: Problems with browser
Did an upgrade Linux 18 but now when starting can not get past password page, checked boot info and all in order as far as I can see, how do I get past this.
Re: Problems with browser
Did you mean to say Linux Mint 20? You were on Linux Mint 18.3 earlier in this topic.
If you are stuck in a login loop (you put in the correct password and it keeps coming back to the login screen), then try the advice in this post.
