Mirror image possible?

Postby nero » Tue Mar 11, 2008 2:21 am

I would like to add another hard drive to my desktop, roughly equal in size to my main hard drive, the purpose of which is to backup (mirror) the original drive. With other OSs there are programs to mirror these images automatically either on an hourly, daily, weekly basis. Some even allow for instant mirroring--delete a file from the original and it is automatically deleted from the secondary. Does Linux have any such software? Gratis or commercial? I'm mainly interested in the latter.

Google for disk image linux
You'll find different solutions that are more or less useful. Incremental imaging seems not to be so easy to find and that's what keeps me at Acronis in Windows for my backups (once a day)
And if you've paid a sum for it why not use it....
Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it
