search reveals no "search for files" Mint 13 SOLVED

Post by revdjenk » Tue May 29, 2012 9:02 am

I guess I hadn't noticed in the RC of mint 13 cinnamon, that the "search for files" (in Menu > Accessories in Mint12) is nowhere to be found. One must open nautilus to get that function now...an extra step added. Or is there a way to add?

Hm ... you are correct. It's not in the menu - in fact it is not installed. So:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install gnome-search-tool
Then it's in Menu > Accessories > Search for Files

Thanks for the quick reply', and solution. That was my next path... but to be honest, wasn't sure how to find that!
