Flash Player Crashing System

Post by skunkarific »

I've tried this on Mint 10 and 13, when I play flash videos, the system reboots with no warning. I've tried Mint's flash plugin installer and the generic flashplugininstaller. I've disabled hardware acceleration, and this has happened with Chromium and Firefox. I've used two Firefox profiles in case one of my extensions was causing the problem, same with Chrome. I've used ATI graphics adapters and NVidia. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Currently trying adobe-plugin.....

Disable hardware acceleration in Flash. Do this by right clicking on a Flash video when it is playing and un-check the box. That seems to help most people who have flash issues. It seems to be helping me so far. I should add that the problem seems to be affecting/caused by nVidia video cards.

Thanks for the advice, in my original post I mentioned I did that. Also, it seems to happen more fullscreen.

I have the same error in my Slack 10.2 with Firefox 2!
It crashes the borwser in many pages! Does anyone have a solution besides
going back to 7?!
I don't want to go back to 7, because of youtube and other sites that get no
sound with the 7 version!

I found the problem. Had an overheating CPU, even though the board was reporting 26C with water cooling. Replaced the cooler and now no problems.

Crap. I replaced the motherboard, CPU cooler, RAM, and even loaded Mint 13 from disc. Still, many times when I fullscreen a youtube vid, the system reboots. Help?
