how to remove delete from right mouse click options

Post by manuleka »

when i right click an item i have two options available for removing the item
1. Move to Trash - which can be restored
2. Delete - which i presume is similar to shift+delete in Windows

how can i remove the delete option? [just so i don't accidentally delete stuff and can't restore them back]

cheers

In Mate, you can disable the Delete command by starting up the Control Center from the Main Menu, and clicking 'File Management'.
In the new window that pops up, under the 'Behaviour' tab, there should be a checkbox labeled "Include a Delete command that bypasses Trash".
Remove that checkmark to hide the 'Delete' command.

I'm sure someone will come by shortly to tell you how to do the same thing in Cinnamon. :)
