is the future of magnet link handlers going to be gone ?

i hate to say when i found out that windows 8 isnt going to have magnet link handlers for bit torrent- i got very angry @ microsoft! please say that the future linux mint editions will have magnet link handler support for bit torrent...... i didnt like this because i think its stupid! clem please keep magnet link handlers in your os!

This would be a decision for the developers of the various bittorrent apps to make
