Some of you probably may have learned about the java zero-day flaw. It is allover the net. i.e. http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/a ... ttack.html
My question is, how can our platform be protected? How to uninstall java without loosing desktop? Is anyone able to help in this regard?
This is an issue to be addresed urgently.

Not much need to worry.
Stick with the default Mint Open JDK java.
The problem is with Oracle java 7.
